One of Roths letters to me, I have several.
What Rat Fink means to me. Growing up I had Rat Fink stickers all over the back of my bedroom door and my great-great-grandmother had Rat Finks she collected in her bathroom on a window sill. So I started loving Rat fink in the early ’60s. Never in my wildest dreams would I think that I would work for Ed one day, but that happen. So besides the fact that I loved and have collected Rat Fink stuff most of my life, now when I think of Rat Fink the 1st thing that pops into my head is the time I worked with Ed. He called me Gator for about a month when I started working with him. Sent funny stuff to my son all the time. One time he sent me a coupon book full of free pizza’s and I think we ate pizzas for a month. When Ed moved to Utah he even sent me a VHS and took me on a tour of his new house and studio. So being a big fan of Rat Fink is a part of my life, but the time I worked with Ed overrides my love for the Fink by far. Besides just the honor of working for Ed, he taught me a lot about art and the business of art which I still use to this day. Rest In Peace Ed "Big Daddy" Roth.
